Dear Vneet

I am very glad to know about this foundation from you. In fact this has been my key focus area and I sincerely believe that one sure and fastest way to empower the nation is to empower women. Girl child education is a key enabler.

Improving Girls Education can have a transformative impact on nation building. The National Education Policy says of 100% gross enrollment rate at the school level by 2030 for which Girls' education is of paramount importance. It is not encouraging that the female literary rate in India is 74.03 percent in 2011 which is far behind the male literacy of 82.12 percent. Although recent figures show an increasing trend in Girl’s education, it is a fact that the Girls Education in India weakened because of lack of basic facilities in schools and other gender discriminations. In rural India it has been noted that the poor families often prefer boys when investing in education. Moreover, the girls in rural India tend to have higher dropout rates compared to boys, particularly at the secondary level due to economic constraints, cultural norms, lack of sanitation facilities and other gender discrimination.

I am very happy that you and your team has chosen Girl education as the main focus area of the AdiMahesh Seva foundation.Let me wish a huge success to the foundation in empowering the girl and the future women of India with the right education.
